Wandering through the maze of streets in Marrakesh is a surreal experience. The atmosphere changes completely from early morning, when vendors first open their stalls, to evening when the shudders are drawn and it becomes a walled maze.
One of the most spectacular things about this city are the cats. Either waiting patiently for the butcher to drop scraps, meowing angrily if you walk too close, or taking naps in the noon sun, you will see a cat wherever you look in the city.
My favorite is the orange tabby that sleeps outside the Riad who I've aptly named couscous(one of the national dishes in Morocco). Couscous is there each morning waiting to greet me as I step outside for my morning tea and dozed off when I return at night face first in a flower pot.
Couscous in all his glory
