Now I'm not one for vague sayings and anecdotes, but time is limited, and to that end how you use it when traveling is essential. Whether it's weeks, months, or up and leaving for a change of pace, there's so much you can do with your free time.
I seek out discomfort and love dropping myself in fast pace cultural experiences that give me a real taste and appreciation for the places I visit. In just a week for spring break, I visited two countries, went surfing, climbed volcanoes and mountains, and ate meals in the market with locals. I edited videos over pupusas, relaxed on the beach, and learned from my homestay family about the cultural history of Antigua, Guatemala.
Nothing felt rushed or out of place. I went at my own pace and did things on the fly. There's a lot you can do in a week, even if you can't see every neighborhood or try every dish, don't let that discourage you from making the most of your time.
